Dancing Boinging Skritching Percussion

Where percussion ensembles go, bedlam follows--if the percussion ensemble is worth a damn, that is. This album did not disappoint, taking Glenn Milleresque arrangements of such usually tame 1930s tunes such as "There's a Small Hotel" and I Didn't Know what Time It Was, and opening the floodgates with a barrage of
bongos, tympani, xylophones, and miscellaneous ratchety tappety and boingy instruments and generally sending the tame of heart to seek cover in the nearest fallout shelter.

I just want to thank you,for introducing this jaded record collector to the joys of budget label "percussion" records a while back. They are certainly a lot more weirder, surreal, and over the top, than boring stuff like Enoch Light or Ferrente and Teicher!
