For Little Buckaroos

Howdy buckaroos and wranglers, cowpokes and cowpokees. I guess that covers everyone. When I saw the album cover at a local antique mall I nearly swallowed my tongue in joy, OK maybe that's not a suitable expression of joy, but there you go. I would gladly assassinate any one of these lovely people for their garb or boots, remind me, doesn't the word assassinate work for killing to procure Western garb as well as politically motivated murder?

And surprise surprise, there are a couple of awesome songs on this album. I salvaged as much as I could from this battered album, perhaps it was even battered AND deep-fried, it's in such bad shape. But I can live without the few tunes that are missing, but I cannot live without Champ Butler's snappy version of Old Chisholm Trail. Champ and the Range Riders really knew how to get this one DONE.

Oh, and don't bother telling me how badly I processed this album, I really did the best I could, considering. Considering that I am inept and have cheap equipment.

Hic - 'N - Burp

Today is post #666 for this blog, and appropriately enough I am featuring a lovely polka album by Czech trombonist (if that is indeed he on the cover) Allen Valish. Need a copy of the Hic-'N-Burp, the Lawrence Welk Polka, or the I Got a Czech Girlfriend Polka? or "Rose's are Red Waltz"? (I personally think it was a slightly obscene inside joke rather than a typo.) Then this swell album is for you! And it's for you whether or not you decide to download it!!
