Millions, and Possibly Billions of Strings

Today’s album probably would be deemed too corny and over the top for Welk-watching blue-haired grannies, which means it may be just a tad too understated for me. Both Werner and Helmut rate alarmingly high on my last.fm charts due to my passion for Teenagers Rock Party  and  SuperTwist, respectively.

Unfortunately there is nothing of that caliber on today's album, though the kitsch factor rates a fairly respectable 3.7745 pfennigs/hectare on the official kitsch mathematical calibration scale. Such as Mr. Muller's "Bistro" (written by two Belgians so it HAS to be good!):

ok, I admit, the comment about the 2 Belgians made me look a bit further, and what do you know:

Beautiful album! I love the nice bold design, ultra-glossy print and thick cardboard jacket! The German sleeves are much softer and less glossy. Yea, I know I sound like a sleazy fetishist but I am...

I love the both of you for your sleazy fetishes, Belgians and weird music. What comes out of the speakers is only part of the experience--the cover art and back story can sometimes even be the larger part of the joy of an album.

Zacharias & Muller!?! The only thing which would make this better is if it had The Third Man, Theme from Limelight or Blue Tango on it.

Patrick should look up The Real Frank Zappa book for Frank's comments on record album fetishims. Frank was talking about this in conjunction with his failure to get venture capital for Live Streaming/consumer recording of albums in the early 80s! Frank was so ahead of his time. (His comments on the recording of classical music and material the string sections didn't learn in Conservatory are great stuff too.)
