Daddy's Little Girl

Hmm. Well. I just made the mistake of googling today's artist only to find a lot of information I really didn't want to know.

ANYWAY!.

Of much lesser interest was the fact that he had a very wholesome TV show in the 50s and 60s. And this album is based on those warm fuzzy memories. Which of course means this album is shite, and despite having some peppy upbeat big band arrangements it's pretty forgettable.

Get a huge heaping bowlful of Post Toasties and give it a try, here.

You DO know I was referring to the album, right....?

Baikinange, let's not forget that those "peppy. upbeat big band sounds" are supposed to UNDERSCORE said "warm, fuzzy memories".'

BTW This was DEFINTIELY sitll made in the Mitch Miller era of Columbia Records [Mitch died at 99 last August, btw.]

I dunno, the whole Danny/Marlo, Frank/Nancy, Jim/Greg wholesome incense thing...I really like it.

Kevin, Jim/Greg? What father/kid couple was THAT?? Anyway, I noted neither of the "Terry Williams"-his teenager duaghters-Sherry Jackson or later Penn[ey] (sic) Parker appeared. Also, Marlo isn't on this LP, if that's what you are implying!

Why Jim and Greg Brady, of course! I believe those pictures on the Danny Thomas lp are from his family tv show...which may or may not have had Marlo on it, I dont remember...

Ok I checked...no Marlo on the make room for daddy show...but I can dream, can't I?

I downloaded and listened with an open mind, but I couldn't take that shit. I think I made it through 2 songs, then tried a few seconds of the rest to see if *anything* was worthy of the molecules of air being vibrated between my speakers and my ears. I hit my delete key with both vim AND vigor.

I believe that if anyone has ever toyed with the idea of becoming a serial killer, but just couldn't get up enough anger and hatred, force them to listen to this entire thing and they'll be pulling the trigger on a busload of nuns toot sweet.

I gotta say, I agree with the Armpit. If it weren't for my quest for every album ever recorded to be online one day I would have removed the tonearm from the totally pointless vinyl.
Kevinass, you to continue to frighten me, but in an entertaining way.
Pokey--the less Mitch Miller, the better, you'll never find him here.

A second issue of this album had a drawing of Danny's face filling out the cover. Don't knock the recording- Danny had two very good arranger/conductors working with him on this album (they also wrote the music for his TV show)- Herbert Spencer and Earle Hagen [the latter also wrote the memorable themes and scores for "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW", "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" and "GOMER PYLE, U.S.M.C." because Danny was associated with those series as well].
