Clyde “Shuggie” Otis, was born in the lap of luxury, being the scion of the elevator manufacturing family and all. He chucked it all to write such massive hits as “I Kneel at Your Throne” which is sadly not part of today’s album. But there are plenty of hep tunes to “perk even the most jaded ear and cause the most apathetic toe to start tapping”, as the liner notes so waggishly aver. As Alexander Pope once said, possibly to one-time Cardinal Keith Hernandez, ‘In lazy Apathy let Stoics boast, Their Virtue fix'd; ‘tis fix'd as in a frost’, so this one should frost yer tootsies, so goeth the Papal Statement. And having a full set of apathetic toes, I can attest to the veracity of that testimony.

Cool story but completely made up.
Besides which, Shuggy Otis is someone else entirely
are you suggesting that wikkkipedia.net is NOT a reliable source for biographical information? Damn.
Yeah, here's Shuggie Otis:

I wouldn't have known the difference but for the fact that I learned to play lead guitar listening to the Al Kooper recordings in the late 60's, one of which was "Kooper Session", which featured a 15 year-old Shuggie Otis.
Love your blog, BTW, Sorry that my first comment seems less than appreciative.
True.. the real Shuggie Otis is the son of Johnny Otis, owner of a famous blues bar in Chicago. My mom had a record shop back around 1969 and I was a lead guitarist and had Shuggie's first album. He played a lot like Mike Bloomfield, another Al Kooper favorite.
