Who is Armando Trovajoli and why does he have so much music that's still in print? I've sure as hell never heard of him, tho I wouldn't mind hearing more.
This sonamabitch album has been a burr in my backside for the past week.....I have no idea what I did to make this sound so wonky, and nothing I do seems to fix it. The harpsichord especially sounds like it's in the next zip code. Can anyone tell me? You can choose between the mono and the stereo version below--
Musical Nightcap - Armando Trovajoli

Hi Mistress Ange. Thank you continuing to brighten our miserable lives.
Question:
Armando Trovajoli and Armando Trovaioli are different guys?
And this is the same guy who did all those cool sleazy eye-ta-lian soundtracks like "Seven Golden Men" and "Vedo Nudo"?
You'll both be the ones who(m) learn, that the answer to the questions posed so posingly above, is equal to a word known as YES.
Know ye's !!
Armando Trovajoli (and yes, you'll sometimes find it spelled Trovaioli) is one of the great Italian film composers, especially of the 60's and 70's. Like most of his contemporaries in Italy, he wrote scores for hundreds of films; his specialty seemed to be sex comedies and caper films, including the fab "Seven Golden Men", and he wrote lots of beat numbers known as "shakes" in the 60's. His best known recording is "Sesso Matto" (translates as Sex Madness), which was a disco hit in certain circles in the 70's. There's a great Japanese 2 CD comp of his stuff that was released in the early 90's. Groovy!
Armando Trovajoli (or Trovaioli) is a multi-talented musician.
Firstly, he is a jazz pianist of great talent; secondly a prolific composer of films scores and thirdly an arranger/conductor of light orchestral music such as the one you've posted.
I'm sorry you had technical problems with the disc but I'm downloading it anyway as I know that it'll be worth hearing whatever the wonkiness...
Thanks for sharing.
I have this in vinyl also. I had recognized the name when I bought it, but it didn't have much of the excitement of what I had heard before. Now I see that the really interesting, groovy stuff is in the soundtracks. Still, this album makes for nice background music at dinner time (unlike the soundtracks, which tend to swing between extremes) or just socializing. There's another on the regular RCA label (I think), called something like Music by Armondo (can't remember exactly). It's pretty sleepy too.
Thanks Mel, CBlack, Litlgrey and Cleve for the info.
(I've met litlgrey and Cleve, Hi guys!)
Litlgrey does Space Patrol on luxuriamusic.com on Saturdays. I like to pop into the chat room during the show. Lets all hang out sometimes when you got time or inclination.
