I posted a few of the tracks on this album a while back--but now I have my own (crappy) copy of "On Campus" by Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts and will post the entire thing. In all its early 1960s frat party glory.
In case you're not familiar with the group, they recycled a lot of old limericks (or "Limmericks" as one track is titled) and double (or actually, single) entendre jokes. Some of it is downright crass, while sounding incredibly naive and dated all at the same time.
My copy has some weird clicky noises that I couldn't get rid of--I thought it was something with my turntable, but the album I did before and after are weird click-free. Just get frat party trashed before listening and you won't care.

wow, did they really have two left-handed guitarists?...
Fabulous ! My father owned and operated a record store in Norfolk Virginia, Birdland Record Shop. He stocked all of Doug Clarks albums. I was 10 years old, 1967, and recall gravitating toward Dougs records located in the"Party Records" section of his store.. Life was good !
"Hot Nuts .. get em from the peanut man"
Thanks for the great post.

Great memories.....I love to hear stories like that. As for the 2 lefties...more likely the photo was flipped for some bizarre aesthetic reason?
actually they all look left-handed but i figured the photo was flipped. now that i've heard the record, it's definitely crude but i expected it to be more R&B. wonder if the Hot Nuts were ever on 8-track? you'd file 'em after Dolemite!
Gotta give this a listen. I hope the label (Gross Records) is not , you know, "nomen est omen".
My copy of the Hot Nuts "Nuts To You" Album is as beat up as a real party record can be, even the sleeve. But you can still see Doug Clark giving the finger on the cover shot pretty good.I bought it in Florida in the early 90´s. I don´t think these records made it to Germany at the time.
By the way, just out of curiosity, I reversed your sleeve with the help of a little Photoshop wizardry and now you can see that in the original shot the bassist on the left doesn´t look as "dynamic" as the guitarist on the right, who ist holding his instrument a little bit more upright.Us graphique artistes always like to play god.
Want me to send you the image? Just kiddin´...
Actually I DO want to see it.....
Please send me a e-mail and I´ll be glad to send you right-handed hot nuts:

I bought sealed copies of this album and Panty Raid. Inside were flimsy postcards to join the Hot Nuts Fan Club. The address was a P.O. box in NYC. I sent one off just for shits and giggles.
